NEWSFLASH! EBAY WILL ONLY PAY WHEN DELIVERY IS CONFIRMED!

Well, after Evri's announcement come's Ebay's. And tarnation, its awkward!

Ebay will from February only pay out to sellers after delivery is confirmed!

As a seller I'm trying to get my head around this. For me it will mean everything I sell from now on has to be tracked and therefore delivery can be confirmed to Ebay [in theory!]

For more IT-savvy sellers they may use Ebay's own printable stamps but I still go to the Post Office.

What will this mean for you if you sell readers?

  1. I don't sell, but I buy a lot. This will surely lead to confusion as to whatmy bank balance is? Also they are putting a fee on this that will be passed on to buyers! New and Improved, it's surprising how often those two terms are confused!

    1. Change for changes sake Kev. I recall Amazon doing similar stuff ten years ago, so I stopped selling books there, as it got way too complicated. A shame, I enjoyed selling books there. Ebay is going the same way for small private sellers like me now. if I've understood this new edict correctly I will have to shell out on postage in advance before getting paid for it and the item itself a couple of days after a confirmed delivery. Problems will arise when delivery cannot be conformed for one reason or another.

  3. I've sold ONE toy in the past four years on fleaBay and it doesn't appear as if any more will sell, soooo what the heck!

  4. It's been quite a while since I used ebay to sell stuff, Woodsy. I was put off by horendous selling fees, import and postage costs. Now that ebay has done away with sellers fees (temporarily I suspect), I've been considering using it once again to sell stuff. In fact I tentatively listed my first item earlier tonight. In the past, I tended to use the post office and recorded/tracked delivery as my preferred method.

    1. Best of luck with your listing Tone. I'll start up again for the year soon too. Everything will be tracked from now on!
