MAJOR MATT MASON AND HIS DAIRY QUEEN JET

I've never eaten a Dairy Queen. I don't think they appeared in the UK, so the association of Major Matt Mason and Dairy Queen is new to me.

Here's an old advertising poster I saw on auction combining the Dairy Queen Jet and the Major.

Is this news to you?

Do you eat Dairy Queen?

  1. Yes,DQ ,as they're often called now, are still around my area.Probably the most popular frozen treat they serve now is called the Blizzard. Its like a really thick milkshake, meant to eat with a spoon, with little pieces of candy or cookies mixed in.The flavors change seasonally, with new flavors being introduced regularly.DQ is also known for hot food like burgers and chicken sandwiches,if the location has a brasier grill.

    1. Really interesting that Brian. No Dairy Queen in Blighty. I'd like the milkshake for sure!

  2. The DQ JET looks interesting. It's a card cylinder with soft ice cream. The 'stick' is probably topped with a round disk to act as a plunger on top of which may be a 'flat' plastic figure, possibly a spaceman or rocket. I have a similar ice cream plunger with a cowboy somewhere.

  3. We go to DQ all the time here in CT! That "Jet" was a variant of a popular ice cream treat, the cone holding the thing together - one of the other brands called theirs a "Rocket"! SFZ
