EASING ROUND ELSECAR EMPORIUM

With  the final remnants of Christmas flickering like a fading star in the January gloom the Missus and me wandered round the Elsecar Antiques two-floor emporium near Barnsley this week, which is always fun. Still lots of ice everywhere after the recent northern cold snap. Brrrr!

I was looking for JR21 novelty toys. I once found a loose red JR21 Landrover here. Not this time but I did see a lot of interesting stuff. See what you think.

An original life-size version of one of my favourite Action Man miniature toys as a kid, the German WWII Stick Grenade! Bit macabre really.

A Vader computer mouse!

I am your cursor!

Part works!

I don't recall this X-Files monster. Do you?

What is the Gooney Bird?

A new old idea; boxes of bones and feathers. Would you buy one?

The second UNCLE book I saw in a week, the last being the Girl.

I do like these Stewardesses.

And a Jaunting Cart. What is Jaunting?

Tons of die-cast.

Keymen! Now that rings bell! Miniature men! Do you remember them?

Some fine Action Man and Star Wars.

and just to tempt me, a really nice Green Hornet Back Beauty at the end!

See anything you like?

  1. Don't remember the X Files figures. That one is from the first feature film. Maybe they all were?

    2. Yes, the X-Files figures were all based on the movie. They were pretty meh and sat on shelves at the Target I worked at until they went on clearance.

    1. My Action Man had one. Gi Joe too. Did you have a GI Joe Ed?

    2. Oh yeah! I had a bunch plus some of the cool accessories. I also had some of the foreign troops: Aussie, German, Russian. I had GI Joe branded figures plus the Marx Stoney Smith and another really cheap knock-off (don't remember the brand).

    4. I gave them all to my nephew when I joined the Air Force. I have no clue what happened to them after that.
