THE WHITE WITCH: ALL SHAMPOO AND SUPER GLUE

My latest project is a DIY White Witch prototype.

The White Witch was a Star Wars DROIDs vehicle and only this prototype was ever made. It was photographed for Kenner by Kim Simmons. It was a sort of flying rocket car.

I've always liked the toyish look of it. Lots of customs have been made and I wanted a crack too.

So, I got my shampoo bottles and tops together.

I began with the cockpit and the big rear nacelles.

More witchery to come.....

And voila! Plastic salad!

Now I need a front tip, some pilots, a roll bar and paint! Oh, and a bat's whisker!

  1. I can't quite see it yet, but I'm intrigued. I have images of you carefully cutting out that cockpit well and installing the green insert!

The speed with which you can build and finish these models is incredible. Plus, the bizarre array of items that go in to making each one. Your ability to look at something, and see it as something completely different. Then to join all those bits together, and create something amazing.

  3. It beggars belief how you manage to get all this stuff to stick together in the first place! I avoid anything soft plastic or vinyl as i know its not going to hold. But it looks very promising indeed! Bill

    1. Thanks Bill. I used Gorilla glue on this one, which I expected to stick instantly but I had to hold parts together for longer I'm sure!

  4. Looks really cool. BTW which type of glue are you using as the plastic used for shampoo bottles is notoriously difficult to glue?

    1. Thanks Yorkie, most kind. I use basic super glue on this and all my projects. I went upmarket and paid £4.99 for a packet of two Gorilla glue tubes for this, rather than my usual £1.99 unbranded tube from the Post Office!
