THE EMPORIUM STRIKES BACK

The Missus took me to a large emporium in Goldthorpe yesterday.

Cabinets and corners rammed with vintage tackle.

Here's a few glimpses of what was on offer. I picked up two inexpensive books. See anything you like? Is there one of these types of emporiums near you?

3 Dimensional Man? Poster

Revenge of Frankenstein Poster in French

Cheap annuals: Daktari etc

Lots of Circus posters

Alice in Wonderland

It really is a big place. This is just one side on one floor!

Green Hornet annual

Loads of die-casts. Quite dear.

Old hand-held games

Modern Action Man. Way too dear.

Airfix and Atlantic - is that pricey? I don't know.

    2. Some antique centres a moderate drive away, but no emporia!

  2. Oooh nice. I'd probably spend too much there! Annuals - stick 'em in the trolley. Diecasts - theres some nice stuff, have to have a good look at them, but the Dinky 104 SPV is almost certainly going to join the annuals. The Dinky UFO interceptor seems pricey, but it seems to be the rare black-nose red leg version, so put that in the trolley too.
I think my wallet would end up empty!

The 3rd Dimension film poster is for House of Wax (1953), but the title is at the bottom of the poster.
Lots of great looking die-casts I would be interested in, but not at silly prices. Those Airfix and Atlantis figure sets from the 1970s, at 20 to 30 pounds each, ouch.
