MOON GLOBES MADE IN JAPAN

Have a look at this British Pathe clip of space fever in 1969 Japan. There's moon globe manufacture, tin space toys, plastic rockets and more. See what you can see and tell us!

  1. I think I had a tin capsule, but I'm not sure if it was that one.

  2. I had the 8 wheel Tomy crawler seen backing up on the counter. I really want one of those globes though! Bill

    1. Tomy Crawler? Me too! With a blue and red decal!
      Those moon globes are sweet!
I like the way they have made dusting a breeze, by moulding the texture in reverse. This way, the crags are on the inside, covered by a smooth clear finish! I also like the Pathe story telling, with the globes being made, sold and used to teach the next generation!
I was a little sad you didn't see the teacher making the purchase, which would have provided an unbroken journey for one Moon globe!

The Lunar Globes are great. Alas, I never had one.

  5. I've never seen a big moon globe like this. I have a little one that lights up.
