Have a look at this British Pathe clip of space fever in 1969 Japan. There's moon globe manufacture, tin space toys, plastic rockets and more. See what you can see and tell us!
Tomy Crawler? Me too! With a blue and red decal! Those moon globes are sweet! I like the way they have made dusting a breeze, by moulding the texture in reverse. This way, the crags are on the inside, covered by a smooth clear finish! I also like the Pathe story telling, with the globes being made, sold and used to teach the next generation! I was a little sad you didn't see the teacher making the purchase, which would have provided an unbroken journey for one Moon globe!
I think I had a tin capsule, but I'm not sure if it was that one.
ReplyDeleteI had the 8 wheel Tomy crawler seen backing up on the counter. I really want one of those globes though! Bill

The Lunar Globes are great. Alas, I never had one.
ReplyDeleteWhat an amazing glimpse into a lost world!!!
ReplyDeleteI've never seen a big moon globe like this. I have a little one that lights up.
