LIBERATED!

Hi,

First model of the year. This is the old Comet kit of the Liberator from Blake's 7.

Down and safe,

  1. Nice job, Kev. Its not a bad kit, just a bit small. I started building one myself a while back, but never got round to finishing it!

  2. Thanks. Yep, they went to so much trouble to make it so accurate and it has so many parts, so it's such a shame that it's not bigger. I got the rarer, clear version so it was easier to stick a light in the engine!

    1. Thanks, I probably had even less of a budget than they did!

  9. Oh, bugger !
I mistook you for Scoop, didn't I Kevin.
So sorry, but both of you shoot such great pics.
On the subject of budgets, the first series of Blake's Seven was originally allocated an effects budget of £50 per episode, as it was in the same transmission slot as 'Softly Softly', a character driven local police drama with almost no effects in it.
Needless to say, they did increase it.

  10. Ha! I'd definitely take it as a compliment if you mistook my pictures fir Scoop's! I sometimes wonder if the low budget for Blake's 7 didn't have a beneficial effect. The designs were so great that I still prefer them to most modern sf, and decades later am still trying to replicate them!
