I like that toy. I think I may have had a secondhand one (minus its remote), as a small child. It's a bit of a vague memory.
ReplyDeleteI'm fond of it myself, Kev. I didn't have one as a youngster, but for a toy of the time it certainly looks pretty accurate. Lakeside toys did a friction drive version, with a swirly coloured ratemaster.

ReplyDeleteWell, it's got two shillings in old money written on the top of the box, which was on there when I bought it, so at some point in the toy's history it was sold for two bob aka two shillings, Lewis.

DeleteAnother beautiful Lincoln International treasure! I consider myself damn lucky that I snagged a couple of the soft-plastic Lincoln International Thunderbirds model kits here in the U.S. back in the late 60s - I think they must have been rare as hen's teeth, even then.
ReplyDeleteThe Lincoln International Thunderbirds set was pretty good in the day, Zigg, and reasonably accurate. I've still got the remnants of my original Thunderbird 3, which is missing its electric motor and wheels.
