SANCHIS GOLD F-104

 This Sanchis F104 plastic plane caught my eye on Spain's Todocolleccion sale site so I saved a pic or two.

I quite like the box art.


There's a black version of the plane ...


...... but its this gold version that's a real cracker.

How about one of these in your collection?

    Very nice. From the levers in the wings above the yellow pods, I take it that these were launchers for the two missiles ? The Starfighter flew with the Spanish Air Force from 1965 to about 1971 or 1972 (the references I checked varied). That might help with dating the toy.

    I remember a school ski trip to Italy, as we flew into the airport and descended to land an Italian F-104 starfighter was strafing a wreck of a tank a few hundred meters away from the runway, I don't remember the airport but it must have been joint civilian and military, in the north about 6 hours drive from the Italian Alps

      Yep! It was the eighties!! No health and safety executive! Imagine it' they were shooting in the direction we were landing in, military police everywhere
