Hi Woodsy. It was nice to see some James Bond stuff posted on the blog so I decided to take some pictures of my few bits.
The third picture is the gold plated corgi DB5, in its gold brick box, signed by Shirley Eaton and Honor Blackman.
The fifth picture is of my son James when he met Honor Blackman and Ursula Andress. He was only about seven at the time and I don’t think he appreciated it! All the best.

DeleteI totally agree with Mr Morley - that is a truly jaw dropping collection.
ReplyDeleteAirfix did two kits for the film You Only Live Twice (1967), the Toyota 2000GT pictured, and the Little Nellie autogyro, both in 1/24th scale. Yet they did not do the Boeing Vertol 107 twin-rotor helicopter seen in the background of the boxtop for the Toyota. Why not ? They had a 1/72nd scale kit of the 107 in their aircraft range, which had been released in 1965. All it would have needed for a James Bond version was a new box, and a new set of decals. This has bothered me for years.
Good point Paul. I had the die-cast Toyota as a kid. Loved it.
DeleteThe artwork on the Airfix kit boxes is sublime. I used to have a big grey plastic DB6, but friction drive. Had an ejector seat, guns and bullet shield on the back. Think it had a rotating number plate too, which fell off and got lost almost immediately. Probably about 10” long, very dimilar to Wills r/c version
