As a former Graphic Designer my immediate response is why did they use the logo from the shoulder patch of the US 82nd Airborne Troops?

It reminds me of the Chariot from Lost in Space. Perhaps that is a source of the inspiration of this toy? Do we have any dates of manufacture?Never mind, toy is dated 1960 while Lost in Space was 65-68.
