Saw this on an old listing and thought, wow, I had one of those in the Sixties!
A vintage cap-firing plastic toy hand grenade, together with a handy watch and caps provided.
There wasn't really anything from the army I didn't have as a toy. If I didn't have it then my Action Man did!
I doubt toy hand grenades would be acceptable these days, relegated to the prohibited footlocker along with chocolate cigarettes and clackers.
Same here Woodsy. I can't remember a type of Army toy I didn't have (except a Johnny 7 which, even as a kid, didn't float my boat). Yup I hand the hand grenade as well as one that was a water squirt 'gun' err, I mean grenade! Speaking of chocolate cigarrettes, just the other day I was watching reruns of 'The Dick Van Dyke Show' where Sally brought Richie some chocolate cigarrettes! I couldn't help but smile!
ReplyDeleteha ha, so you were fully weaponised as well Ed as a kid! I need my OMA to fend off my big brothers! [pity they didn't release an OPA too!]. Yep, choccy cigs were delicious and I can imagine it looking odd to modern audiences. Good old Dick Van Dyke ha ha!
