SPACE AGE RAY-GUARD X-2 BOX LINK

Looking at the Space Age Toys r/c toy I posted this morning I realised I'd seen part of the box art before.

Its the astronaut top left covered with a price sticker. He's beaning a ray at the toy.

Well here's that astronaut again on another space toy, which some of you may have, the Ray-Guard Spaceship X-2, a blue Thunderbird 2 clone.

The only picture I can find of this appeared here on Moonbase in 2009, here right. You can just see the astronaut with the beam of light on the box.

I wonder what the connection is between the two toys? Are they the same maker? They share the same light-control technology [what does trig and turn action mean?]

Has anyone got the Ray-Guard X-2?
