AN UNUSUAL SPACE AGE TOY

There's a few interesting old toys in this old auction at Tooveys in 2012.

Most unusual is the "Space Age Toys" battery powered remote control spaceship bottom left. Its a toy I don't think I've seen before. Its a pity there wasn't a picture of the toy itself on the auction site. There's a strong hint of a Willy Ley design, the Passenger Rocket. Do you agree?

Is this a toy you know?

There's also a Tomy Space Climbing Mobile, which we've featured before and is a favourite of Wotans.

There's also a Saturn space tank by Anker of the former East Germany [DDR], which I've got at Moonbase as well.

Do you like any of these toys auctioned?

    1. What? The Space Age Toys plane? A radio? Pictures please! As for that lovely Anker toy I can assure you that mine was bought and brought personally by me from the former DDR. I got it in Potsdam! A gift would be great though Wote!

  2. looks like the space toy was remote controlled by light, it follows the beam of a torch.

    1. Yep, and the posture of the spaceman (under price tag) is the same as on the box of the Ray-O-Matic Ray Guided X-2 Space Ship.

    2. I agree Arto! I had the same thought and posted it just now! Can't find any decent pics of the Ray-Guard X-2 anywhere!

  4. Have the Monogram spaceships kit. I've always thought the red 'passenger rocket' inspired Derek Meddings; design for Thunderbird 2.
