Vincent Di Fate has done quite a bit of science fiction art beyond the glory days for hardware art in the 70s. I had a chance to see him at a recent Boskone (Boston SF con) where he was artist guest of honor. Very well versed in the genre as well as several other artists at the con and himself participated in a panel of "guess the artists" as a variety of work was projected and they guessed who it possibly was. He was fairly accurate. Not surprisingly since he did edit "Infinite Worlds"(1997) which was a collection of various SF artists. Monsters in Motion even worked up a replica of his Nautilus design.
