ELDON TOY BOATS SPRING 1967

I may have posted this before but I like this Eldon Spring catalogue insert cover so much I had to do it.

Its such a great shot of their 'new' Coast Guard Patrol Boat. How on earth did they do it? Could 'we' achieve results like that?

Here's their toy boat and ship selection from 1967.

Which would you have liked as a kid?

I associate Eldon with Billy Blastoff so seeing these is a revelation.

More Eldon to come.

That wonderful Viking longboat would be top of my 'wants' list. The catalogue cover photo is really nice. The question is, did they use real water and a high shutter speed, or did they use another material, and sculpt it to look like water ?

  2. Looking at the drops sticking to the hull, I'd say real water. Great shot though, water is tough to take model photos in!

  3. its deffo real water - probably held the boat still, focussed in, then ran water past it for the shot. Great cover, love Eldon toys

  4. I have the 12 meter Eldon. It needs some help so I was glad to see the picture and description from the catalog. I also have a RC sailboat with a wood deck that I hope to restore. It is a model 1257 or B-23 Sterling Sailfish.
