Kevin D recently came across a Pedigree Sindy Doll buggy recently and decided to re-configure it as a Space:1999 Moon Buggy!
The astronaut is courtesy of an Action Man racing driver, with custom suit and helmet.
I think you'll agree it could easily have sat on the moonscape during filming!
Really nice work! There exist another version of the 1/6 scale Amphicat, whitout the headlights, the GI Joe one:

That's a brilliant piece of 1/6 scale model making, Kevin. An amazing transformation of a Sindy Buggy! I like the space suit as well, especially the authentic look of the helmet.
ReplyDeleteThanks folks. It was a bit of fun but it is quite big!
ReplyDeleteForgot to add I did make a smaller one out of a Matchbox-sized die cast Amphicat.
ReplyDeleteThe Majorette #256 Amphibie, I suppose.. :-)

Yep, it was the majorette toy that I made the small buggy from.
DeleteIthink the suits actually better than the buggy! Nice needlework!
ReplyDeleteHa! The reason for the racing driver was that he comes in a red jumpsuit, all I had to do was make the hardware!
ReplyDeleteAhh - and here I was about to send my shirts round for a bit of tailoring! I stand corrected then, the buggy is the star of the show, not A.M!
DeleteI did all my own stitching on my Camberwick Green figures though!
ReplyDeleteNice work! 1/6 scale astronaut is nice, I'm sorta musing about making an Alpha astronaut in 1/3 (puppet) scale. A little challenging on the sewing, but nowhere near as arduous as a 2001 spacesuit!
ReplyDeleteOf course I'll also need a 1/3 scale female figure for what I'm thinking...
Maybe Maya, but probably Sandra.
Thanks. The Alpha puppets sound great, love to see those!
