Looks very similar to some of the later (late 60's/early 70's) Mars expedition proposals from NASA/Von Braun!

The Command Module reminds me of an 'Alpha 1999 Eagle. Perhaps a Probe Force Eagle?
I see what you mean Bill. This craft turns up in a number of Di Fate's paintings. I wonder if he ever saw any Anderson on TV in the States?
