PRODUCT ENTERPRISE S.H.A.D.O. MOBILES

A few more photos I’ve taken of the Product Enterprise S.H.A.D.O. Mobiles, using my trusty fog machine for hopefully a little added realism. 

The Mobiles are S.H.A.D.O.’s all-terrain vehicles, and are carried to the areas of UFO incidents either by road or air transporter. They are usually in groups of three, and are armed with grenade/depth charge launchers and a medium-calibre automatic cannon. There is also a separate operations control vehicle which carries surveillance and radar equipment.

The original filming props were something like 21” long, and used an altered Topper ‘Tiger Joe’ tank chassis toy for the caterpillar tracks. It was designed by Mike Trim.   

The P.E. die cast models originally appeared in 2005 with unsubtle heavy weathering, however Product Enterprise corrected this with a later less weathered batch, which are the versions I’ve used for the photos.

Product Enterprise released three variations – S.H.A.D.O. 1 & 2, and S.H.A.D.O. Control. I did read somewhere that P.E. had plans to produce a S.H.A.D.O. 3 version, as well as a second UFO Interceptor set, but unfortunately they ceased trading under the Product Enterprise banner before that might have happened. 

S.H.A.D.O. 1 features a retractable ‘laser’ cannon and grenade launcher. It comes with two detachable aerials and movable rubber caterpillar tracks.  

 S.H.A.D.O. 2 is the standard display model, and only feature’s a detachable aerial and caterpillar tracks.

S.H.A.D.O. Control features a Radar Detection Unit, as well as a detachable aerial and caterpillar tracks.

As a footnote I read that Sixteen 12 collectables (formally Product Enterprise) have plans to produce a very limited run of 21” studio scale S.H.A.D.O. Mobiles for the more serious collector at the end of this year depending, of course on interest.  They also hope to do a highly detailed 19” Skydiver and a new set of UFO Interceptors, complete with launch platform.
