BUCKET FILMS

Some old films I've never seen that are on my bucket list. You seen any of these readers?

Electra Glide in Blue, 70's cop on a Harley.

Billy Jack, kung-fu cowboy.

Klute, crime capers.

Murder Inc, more crime capers.

Lepke, I think that's what it was called.

Midwich Cuckoos, those damned kids.

Black Belt Jones, karate japes.

Solaris, russian original

Space Balls, star wars laugh-in.

Romancing the Stone and the other one.

Catch 22

On the Beach

Parallax View

I'm sure there's more.

What have you not seen readers?

  1. The sequel to Romancing the Stone is The Jewel of the Nile.Good movies, but not unforgettable.Same can be said for Spaceballs.Do watch all three.I just watched a movie from last year called Get Out.Everyone made a huge fuss about this movie but I didn't get to see it til now.A good movie, but it seemed very obvious and predictable to me.

    1. Cheers Brian. of course, the Jewel in the Nile. For some reason I imagine them to be like National Treasure with Nic Cage. Dunno why. Yep, heard a lot of praise for Get Out. Not seen it. If its anything like the over-hyped modern mess that Heredity was then I'll pass.

  2. "Electra Glide in Blue". Suggest you move it off your list to "seen it"! Unforgettable film. Bikes, Plot, Characters-all brilliant. There's even a massive drum solo in it.

  3. Coincidence, I watched Klute on DVD last weekend, Woodsy. First time I saw it must have been on TV in the late 70s. One of my faves and one I'd certainly recommend to you :)

    1. Spooky! I think Klute was remade Tone. With the ubiquitous Jason Statham. I shall seek out the Sutherland original too. Ta.

  4. You must see 'Catch 22' and 'On The Beach' (both grim though).'The Midwich Cuckoos' is the book on which the movie 'Children of the Damned is based. That's a must see too.

  5. Solaris has some amazing bits, but it's about an hour too long- best to skip about the first third, before Kris reaches the space station.

    1. Good tip Andy. I recall my Missus having the novel by Stanislav Lem when I met her in the 70's. I thought it was a great name! Never read it though.

  6. Be warned that if you watch Space Balls there is a chance you might fall off your chair laughing. It is without doubt the best of the original Star Wars Trilogy.
