recycling lone star's captain scarlet toy pistol

You remember the Lone Star die-cast Captain Scarlet pistol.
Some of you may have had one in the Sixties maybe?

As I've blogged before it was also the basis of the uber-collectable Captain Scarlet rifle, which I assume was also made by Lone Star.

But the life the pistol didn't stop there!

It went on to live again in the form of the Flash Gordon space gun!

I can't find a picture of a loose one but I can see its the same toy gun. Do you agree?

Was that the end of the Lone Star Captain Scarlet toy pistol readers?

  2. I have just bought a mint Lone Star Scarlet pistol and holster; I also have a Lone Star Flash Gordon boxed pistol and holster; and yes if you take off the frontend and trigger guard of the Flash pistol - just a nut and bolt, a stubby barrel is revealed; shorter than the Scarlet .
