Here's my third home-made folk horror short, Creatures.
The bit I like the most personally is the opening titles which I'd hoped would hark back to the musicless titles of Seventies TV plays like Vampires.
The basic wildlife filming was done on my phone on a nearby hill field.
See what you think.
Enjoy!
You're right, the opening titles are in keeping with Seventies televison plays, Woodsy. I'll have to watch Vampires again now that the dark nights are here :)
ReplyDeleteThanks Tone. Glad you thought so. I tried to find Vampires again on You Tube but its gone. The BBC have claimed copyright.
ReplyDeleteJust checked the Cobwebbed Room blog as well... you're right Woodsy, sadly it's gone. Oh well, just have to get that trusty ol' mutt to wear a pair of plastic vampire fangs for your next film, ha ha :)
ReplyDeleteThe hallmark of a great director.Your fans said"More Blue, less ketchup."You gave the people what they want.Bravo!
ReplyDeleteMore Blue, Less Ketchup! My new mantra! ha ha.
DeleteThat undulating effect was very cool, and that shock ending! Oh what secrets those Yorkshire moors keep hidden. You've opened the Pandora's Box Woodsy, and there's no turning back!
ReplyDeleteThanks Arto! Wish I'd started when I was a kid! Yorkshire is officially creepy. American Werewolf in London's moorland mauling was set there [altho' filmed elsewhere I think]. I am the Kessler Boy! ha ha
DeleteHave you seen the young filmmakers' monster flick from the Sixties called Equinox?
All new to me Woodsy, and now I see its other director was none other than VFX wizard Dennis Muren! A must-see!
DeleteI got the collectors edition DVD about five years ago Arto. Here's one but its Region 1.

Its a fabulous film by young people back in the late Sixties. I think Forrie may have had a hand in it too. If I collected Super 8 films the Mountain release of Equinox would be top of the list.
