biggles autograph

Hello,

Well this autograph isn't SF or Horror unless you're referring to the 'orrible models and special effects from the TV series Biggles about 1961.

  1. A lovely autograph Terra from the golden age of TV. How did you get that?

  2. TV Times arrived one morning with Biggles on the cover. As soon as I was home from school I wrote to request a signed photo of Neville Whiting. Months later after the TV show was off the air a manilla envelope arrived with the photo. Note that it is signed with a fountain pen. I had been a Biggles fan after first reading his tales in Eagle Comic, I still reread my Biggles Books. The TV show was going to be released on DVD couple of years ago but I believe the release was cancelled.

  3. 'Biggles Flies Undone' was the worst in the series.

  4. What a fantastic memory of how you managed to get Neville Whitings autograph. It may have taken a couple of months to arrive, but you got it in the end... and much to your credit, you still have it today!

    1. It sat in an envelope glued into a scrap book with TV Times cuttings about Biggles and the TV Express Biggles comic strip that was contempory with the TV show. The scrap book was filed away with my Biggles books. 1960 predates all the former Dan Dare artists from Eagle working on TV21 strips of Anderson TV shows.
