old toy cars found at boot sales

Some old die-cast cars I brought home from car boot sales over the years.

Have you found any?

  1. I recognize the hot pink buggy with the gold flecks. One of my fave childhood Matchboxes. I think it had a chrome engine in the rear that bounced up and down when you push it.

    1. Yeah, I had one too Brian, a pink Matchbox beach buggy. The exposed engine one was Matchbox'!s green Baja Dune buggy, another cool toy car.

  2. Car boot sales still offer rich pickings for toy cars at good prices, Woodsy. As a kid I had the car in last pic, but can't remember what it was called? It had the look of a sporty Bond car, but I don't think it was :)

  4. Yes what is that car? I like it; also the MB Ford Capri was a favourite in the early 70s.

  5. The last bond like car is the corgi Chevrolet astro 1 experimental car. A lovely thing and I had one too as a kid. How would you describe the front opening? Scissor doors?

  6. Still have one of my first Matchbox toys, the Alvis Fire Tender, although mine is missing the plastic attachments. I got it from a little Toy Shop in Bridgend, which is now a Greggs Sandwich Bar.

    1. Yep, the Alvis tender is a classic Bill. You've done well to hang on to any of your die-casts. Mine went down the motorway to the tip for some reason! I have the large plastic version of the fire engine released by JR21, which is a really ace toy too.
