KEVIN'S SCRATCH BIULT SPACEX HAWK COMPLETE!

Hi,

I have finished the replica of the SpaceX Hawk.

I'm very pleased with this one!

and here compared to the original Tri-ang toy..

I have now completed all 15 of the carded Spacex 1 toys!

This project has taken me 4 years but I am glad I did it!

I have managed to recreate them as I saw them in my mind as a child when they were probably my favourite toys.

Take care,
Kevin

  3. Awesome work Kevin! Can I ask what glue/s you used and just how many hours you reckon it took to build from start to finish?

  4. Thanks. Superglue for all of it except the canopy (as it would cloud it) where I used clear epoxy. Took just over a week doing two or three hours a day.

  5. I agree, your meisterwerk kev. The Hawk looks fantastic. It'd be interesting to put the similar sized Tarheel green Hawk next to it. As for the entire collection now being complete, what an amazing achievement! Four years have certainly paid off, your fleet would look great at an exhibition somewhere. Well done Kev, you ,must be chuffed.

  12. Brilliant work. I've still got most of my Spacex toys in the loft - sadly not all in the best condition (I think I trod on the cruiser - one of my favouries - as a child) - but my Hawk (my other favourite) is still in quite good condition.

I think my parents started buying me these when I said I'd prefer a toy to fireworks when Nov 5th approached. Trips to Woolworths were a treat, trying to find those models I hadn't yet collected.

    1. Good idea getting toys instead of fireworks Steve! Get those SpaceX out of the loft and send us a piccy for the blog! Email address is at the bottom of the page.
