SPACEX TOYS AT XMAS: CARNABY STREET, LONDON 1969

Take a stroll down Carnaby Street, London Christmas 1969 readers courtesy of the British Pathe archive. Its a short silent film but in glorious Xmas colours. Watch out for a cool Spacex boxed super- set in the window briefly at different points in the film. Boy, wouldn't it be nice to be there once more! What is or was your favourite Christmas shopping street readers?

  1. Looks more like Oxford St than Carnaby St?

  2. I can feel the warmth and good cheer in that old film. They just don't make Christmas like that anymore.I used to enjoy the sights in Philadelphia Pennsylvania, particularly John Wannamakers'department store displays. My grand daughter just took her first day trip to New York City to see Rockefeller Plaza and Times Square. She was particularly excited about seeing FAO Schwartz and their big display of toys.I'll be soon receiving a phone call from her telling me all about it.A very merry one to you and yours,Woodsy! All the best!

  3. Yep - deffo not just Carnaby St. The Spacex bit must be a Triang themed window as the lower front is littered with Jump Jockey (green tracks) and Spacenik. Shame the res is so low.
