When I first had access to the net around 1995 I found a picture of an LP Moon Explorer Car. It was a revelation that another toy company had had a crack at the Moon Bus. The LP toy was featured on the amazing Gasoline Alley Antiques website and incredibly with a T Moon Bus too.
They were the first non- Century 21 SWORD-type toys I'd ever seen. And so, I've always had a love affair with the LP Moon Explorer Car and its become a bit of a blog legend but it would take me many years before one drove into Moon Base. Unbelievably the LP Moon Explorer Car is still for sale at Gasoline Alley but I can't access it for some reason!
The next part of the story was a further revelation. The LP Moon Explorer was a dead-ringer for the earliest Moon Bus illustrated in TV21, which was introduced to me by the ever-resourceful Wotan.
The next connection I've noticed off and on but not sure if I've ever blogged it. The LP Moon Explorer Car is illustrated, albeit it very small, on the box of another LP toy, the Astronaut.
