TOTALLY GOOGLED!

I'm starting to think I can't move anywhere on the net without Google + asking me to sign in! Not only that but they seem determined to use my real name rather than any moniker I like having! Its all rather frustrating and feels like the cyber-version of the enclosures act!

Is it just me?

  1. I tried to use 4OD on my phone this week and it wanted a phone number and a second email address in case the first one didn't work! I gave it a fake one and it seemed happy.

  3. I've been lying to the internet about who I really am for so long... if I have to start using my real name I might have some sort of identity crisis.

  4. yes same here - wont let me add utube vids without me agreeing to use my name then does nothing and still wont let me do anything very frustrating

  5. I think it's all to do with their single sign-on, which I've started getting for a week now, and which makes a certain kind of sense (to the average punter as well as the big G themselves).

It started for me in them asking to change my y'alltube account name, which I childishly got round by refreshing the screen. :) Then they asked a more relevant question, in whether I wanted my channel at all since I didn't appear to be using it. Can't even recall why I ever set up an account in the first place, so agreed and that settled it to everyone's satisfaction.

Long story short, I think you can pick any old name (Grumpy.Spiteful f ex) so long as it's the same one across all their services.

    Hope that helps -- Paul
