Blogsclusive Freebie!

It's been a while since Moonbase Central offered a special give away. But we do like to keep up the tradition of free gifts for our faithful readers every now and then! So to commemorate what will soon be our 4000th post on the blog and the release of a brand new tale on Celtica Radios' 'Squaring the Circle' later this evening, we've prepared a special MP3 cd of the first three stories from the 'Tales of the Darkside' series, penned by your very own mighty Wotan.

Tales of the Darkside is a sequence of stories set in a universe which takes its inspiration from the blogs favourite toy designs and the worlds of TV21.  The stories are all original and feature ships and vehicles that you may recognise. The astronomical details are technically precise and the characters, including Commander Wotan form part of a cast who will appear in a more or less regular series of tales which will form an overarching continuum.

The CD features the first three stories, two of which are dual part shows and begins with 'The Falkon' which finds Commander Wotan beginning a tour of duty on a remote outpost on the moons dark side and continues through the first historic trip to the moons of Saturn. The final story is set on a remote asteroid and raises questions about the very nature of life in the solar system. The Darkside series, including the new story 'Coldhearted' are set in a near future time where man has migrated to Mars after a catastrophic meteor strike has left Earth largely uninhabitable and humanity has colonised the inner planets and is looking to expand beyond the orbit of Jupiter.
