Back to My Future

"Right darling, now we need to work on the four kids"
If you've listened to this months SWORDCAST, you will have heard me having a rant about my disappointment about how the future unfolded. When I was a knee high to a school radiator, I recall announcing that by the time I was 24, I'd be driving an E-Type Jaguar, have four children and be an astronaut. Those of you who know me will understand that that hasn't actually panned out. Probably the basis for this desire was my love of Matchbox cars and space.
Matchbox Superfast cars delivered a regular fix of beautifully styled cars every month or so and I collected them religously. It was only many years later, that I discovered a lot of the cars I played with as a kid, were in fact real life designs for various car companies.

I naturally assumed that the future would have roads full of super streamlined, aerodynamically sleek supercars.
Unfortunately, things didn't work out that way!
I blame Matchbox..

Surely two out of three isn't that bad? Although it is a pity about not having the four children, I agree.
