Snap Fit Delights

Recently, we saw an extensive series of listings on ebay, of 'cosmic artefacts' from the Ray Rohr estate. Amongst the goodies included in the sales were three small snap fit kits. At least one of these was originally mentioned in Woodstocks blog precursor, The Project Sword Checklist, a site which is still around today, over 12 years later. Its interesting to compare the
information contained in it with what we have since learned on the blog!

However, very recently, a good friend and mentor in all things plastic, ubercollector Astronit, mailed me some exclusive shots of the hoarde of kits. Two of the kits had been swapped in their boxes, but kuckily, Astronit acquired all three and restored order!

Notice the disparity in the colour of the box art and the kit of the Echo Car and Vanguard, which must have led to the mix up.

Before you leave, be sure to marvel at Astronits amazing collection via Flickr. http://www.flickr.com/photos/astronit/

  1. Two of these were on Buy-it-Now for a couple of years around 2006/7 I followed them for ages...through two computers and three jobs!!

I suspect they are Midori, both from the box size, the construction style, the part count and the motor design, I don't know why they aren't covered in the usual Midori graphics, but they did do their AFV's in alternate (and cleaner) packaging for Riko and others so I guess something like that.

If not Midori, some similar brand like Crown?

  2. Got also one full set some time ago with contents of two kits switched - perhaps a factory mishap?

  4. The Echo Car recently on fleaBay had the Vanguard kit but the Echo Car box. Unfortunately I have the Vanguard and didn't want to pay nearly $20 for an Echo Car box (as I already have the Vanguard). Still lookin' for that complete Echo Car.
