FUTURE PAST

Like Scoop and Bill have said it is hard to know what to do with the loss we all feel today. The fact that we are all feel lost is testament to Gerry's genius. His body of work begun half a century ago will live on as his unique vision of a fantastic future is timeless. Everytime we look to the sky we will imagine it filled with his Thunderbirds. This blog would not exist if not for Gerry Anderson and I dedicate it to his memory, his work, his fans and his family. God bless Gerry.

  1. Great to read all your consoling words, Woodsy Bill and Scoop. Having grown up on a cultural / political threshold in Finland during the 60's and 70's, it would take volumes to explain the significance of series like Thunderbirds or Space: 1999 for a young kid that I was. Makes it easier to know that Mr. Anderson had enough time here to leave an ever-lasting imprint on our popular culture, on our dare to dream.

  2. It is a comfort that we all feel the same. Thanks for expressing it.

  3. Like Frank Hampson with Dan Dare in the 1950s, Gerry Anderson was, I think, the right person in the right place at the right time. He captured the feel of a decade, even helped create that (optimistic)feel. Quite an achievment.
