Nation-al Treasures

I thought that there was no longer any chance of getting a decent free gift with a comic, gone were the days of buying the TV21 and getting a cool freebie or opening a box of cereal and having a neat little toy fall into my milk. Well today i happily eat my words as after an improtu visit to Tesco i spotted Doctor Who weekly on the newsstand with a cover gift of not one but 17 small plastic daleks! 17! I'd have been happy with one, but here we have an instant army for two quid! I believe this isnt the first time they have supplied daleks like this, but these are the new model daleks and quite detailed despite being over an inch high.

Theres five different colours too! carpet wars here we come!

  1. Cool find Wote! I love a bargain too. I've looked at those Dr. Who mags as well in the past. I've drooled over the batman and spiderman comics with free gifts too.

  2. The Moon People WOTAN figure is a bit dalek-like ain't he! He could be a bipedal Davros, King of the Daleks. Just thought, the Daleks all have sink plungers, so what's that on the end of WOte's hands?

  3. There's been a lot of discussion on the forum of this company:

about those Daleks! You'll be able to find a link to their FREE Dr Who wargame rules, which should help with those carpet wars! Also, their forthcoming "7TV" rules should be usable for Gerry Anderson-style games...

  5. Woodsy, remember that some of the film Daleks have "grab" arms. Wote's is more like that. He's way better'n Davros though, who was a sneaky, cowardly li'l low-life.

  6. Oh, and BTW, can't remember if I have mentioned this before, but if we are talking FREE games, there is a game here that looks very good. It can include Daleks or just about any other monster that's appeared in the stories ...
