You'll Die Laughing black and white photo set. GRRRRoovy! Sorry about the pic quality, it's a house of dark shadows at the mo (that's a TV monster reference!). I love the laughing monster gang on the backs of all these cards!
Hi Philosophic Toad (thanks for the name explanation by the way!)... sounds like Mitzi might be one of those thread bare bears with all the use :-)
Wow, that Wolfman and Creature card made me remember these! I had a lot of them as a kid, think I still have them somewhere, along with my other cards. I had some from "The Champions" with a code thing on the back, some Outer Limits ones (I think) and a whole set of Tarzan cards, the ones that had individual pictures on the front but the backs were part of a big picture, bit like a jigsaw. Had a full set of TyPhoo space cards too in their little album. Might even have a few really old Dr Who transfers somewhere...remember those transfers? I used to love them!
I am going to have a little look at exactly what I do have left in the card/toy department...do my own "Loft In Space" expedition hehe) and if there is anything interesting I'll try and get a few pics and send them to Woodsy.
You are quite right, eviled: Mitzi is a little threadbare. But she is so timid, and Woodsy will keep posting all these horror pictures. Is it any wonder she needs so much comfort? Of course, those pictures don't bother me in the slightest. **A startled Toad leaps out of chair at sound of refrigerator switching on**
I have four of those champions cards. Loved those code things. I believe the pattern was much the same as that used for the James Bond bubble gum code cards. Am i correct in thinking there were some Batman code cards too ... riddles, or jokes, with the answer hidden in the code?
I also have a handful of Weetabix "Conquest of Space" cards somewhere ... but can't for the life of me find them :(
I remember those Doctor Who transfers! Wasn't aware of the Tarzan cards though. Are they these ones?

Yes, please, eviled - do sort out your cards. I would certainly like to see them.
BTW, that website also has many, if not all, of the "You'll Die Laughing" cards:
As it says, if you go to the last one, it shows the big picture they make up. Took me ages to get the last couple. Is it true the card manufacturers used to only make a few of some cards so you had to keep buying the gum/product or whatever it was in the hope of getting them? Sounds the sort of trick they would play!
Thanks, eviled. I definitely don't remember those from the time. The large picture really is quite striking!
And yes, I suspect you may well be right about the devious tactics of the manufacturers. As a child i` certainly thought that was the case with cereal premiums. I tried for ages and ages to get Mr Upsy-Downsy from the Crater Critters, but never even saw one until the mighty WOTAN gave me a remould of one in the past year or two!
More Horror pics?!? Uh oh, another bad night coming up for Mitzi ... ^_^

Apologies if these have been flagged before. Toad has rotten memory.
