It was easily the warmest day and evening of the year today here in darkest Yorkshire. I took the opportunity to have some sunny fun and take a few snaps in the garden, a smorgasbord of LP, JR21, Century 21 and AHI. I'm sure readers can do better than my meagre efforts. Contributions welcomed!
It's the bottom photo I like best ... the one with the Photoshop enhancements. Very atmospheric.
ReplyDeleteAnd I do like that Scramble Bug at top right of the blog! Very nice, Woodsy.
This brings back childhood memories of trips with my family to a campsite near Elk Lake in Pennsylvania. (And those names sound particularly American, don't they?) While my family was never the type that went on camping trips or slept in tents, we were very big on long car trips and spending a day surrounded by nature before heading home in the evening. I'd bring my Dinky Thunderbird 2 along on these trips and go off by myself, and spend ages looking for spots for Virgil, Gordon, and Brains to come in for a landing. I haven't thought of that in years! But you can see why I'd be reminded of them now…
ReplyDeleteYes, those place names do sound so very American. And what glorious pictures your recollections paint in my mind. Those long car trips must have been marvellous!
