I was sad to learn of the actor, Edward Woodward's death at age 79 today. My earliest and strongest memory is watching him in black and white on TV with my parents in his great role as the private eye CALLAN back when I was a wee lad in the late 60's. I can see the swinging bare light bulb in the opening titles quite clearly! A little later he co-starred in the iconic British horror flick THE WICKER MAN and later the US series THE EQUALIZER. Another icon of my generation has left us and the world is an emptier place for it.
That is sad news.
ReplyDeleteHe also starred in one episode of Crusade where he played the father of a semi-regular character named Galen, who I believe was played by his real life son (please correct me if I'm wrong).
