The Eagle is Branded

I saw this vintage boxed EAGLES Terror of the Deep Adventure set, branded Airfix, on auction and I think I love it!

That box art!

As a kid I had the Airfix Deetail toys and the wonderful Mini-Sets, but never these Eagles. Did you readers?

We're there action figures to go with them?

  1. Thats Britains deetail and Britains mini sets, and yes there was supposed to be a figure in the box. If you Google airfix eagles you will
See what they look liked. Not the greatest looking of figures that where sold under many different labels.

  2. Those were my thoughts too, Anonymous!
I had the Britains frogmen and octopus set as a kid.

I also had the hard hat divers fighting a shark set!
And yes Woodsy, great packaging art! Very 70's, that colour squeaker style. It reminds me of the early Hot Wheels look!

  3. figures were absolutely awful. Solid cast upper torso and spindly, jointed plastic legs in rubber pants. The accessories were ok, but the figures were naff. Rear artwork was by Oliver Frey. Bill

  4. Following the suggestion, I Googled Airfix Eagles and came up with this

1978 was way past my UK childhood and I never saw the Airfix Eagles in Australia.
Weirdly those rubber pants and that chrome viking space helmet stir some dim memories, so maybe I picked up that figure at an Opportunity Shop...
