Terry's New Bandai (JR21) SPV

Hi Woodsy

I Finally managed to acquire a ‘Bandai’ large friction drive SPV.

As you are probably aware it is in fact identical to the JR21 version and has their diamond shaped trademark on its base. However unlike the JR21 version the words ‘Made in Hong Kong’ are absent.

This particular one has been well played with as Captain Scarlet’s right arm was broken off at the elbow and the main part of the top fin was not visible - both parts were found inside next to the friction motor. The top fin is now held in place by bluetack.

Captain Blue is missing and so is one of the four rear tracks plus one track wheel. Surprisingly the ejector seat and hatch are working fine.

The timing is unfortunate as a couple of weeks ago someone had the figures for sale on eBay so the hunt goes on for the missing parts.

All the best
Terry

That looks spiffing! I note the box
art is the same as the smaller card mounted clockwork series ( with the Spectrum medallion key and chain)
I have a boxed fixer-upper C21 SPC, but I've never seen a complete big SPV for offer.
I have a few of the smaller Bandai wind-ups still in their blisters on their card backings. A Cloudbase/ Helicopter combo, a SPC and a MSV.
I paid top Dollar for them, but they are obviously rare, 60 years on!
However the small SPV eludes me and I think I'll have to make a counterfeit one to complete my Spectrum big three!
