Bill Ev's Dinky FAB1 Restoration

 Hi Woodsy,

I've just started restoring my 1966 vintage Dinky FAB1. Initially, I tried spraying the grill with chrome paint, but I was not happy with the finish. Plus it was too fragile and subject to the slightest scratch.

So I decided to polish the metal and use Johnsons Klear to protect it. This gave a better finish keeping more of the detail.

So attached is the first photo for your delight.

I do note the pockmarks where the number plate will go. But that will be covered.

My intention is to make it look pretty much as it looked when I unboxed it for my birthday in 1966. With just a few alterations.

Wish me luck.

  1. Good luck Bill, I've understood that FAB1 is a tricky one to restore.
