I met Scott Carpenter over 20 years ago at an Autographica event (can’t remember where) , I remember he was a very cheerful and friendly person. When signing the capsule he remarked that he thought it was quite a good model. Also , I got him to sign some thunderbird 1 items, and at the time he didn’t realise that Scott Tracy had been named after him! Will O
He signed a Rosenthal TB1 , a TV21 with TB1 on the cover , and a TV21 with Stingray on the cover, because as a crew member of the US’s Sealab , he was also known as an Aquanaut…. just like Troy Tempest!
