Am pretty sure the figures are copies of a multipose & multicolor, red/white/blue, set I had and was made by Marx in the 1960s. The guys were roughly 1/48 scale and I miss them. Do not know what became of them.
You're right Woodsy - the rocket platform is a simplified copy of the LP version. The figures aren't copies of Marx astronauts but MPC. https://triangspacextoys.info/SpGAderv/OTHR/mixMmtch/unique/UniquePg.html https://triangspacextoys.info/SpGAderv/LPHK/LPhkSmTy/LPmlp/LPmlp.html https://triangspacextoys.info/SpGAorig/astroOrF/FigOrigC.html
