I was oblivious to the POGS craze of the 90's but I had collected a few of the original milk bottle tops from the 40's.
In the UK glass milk bottles, the Imperial Pint sized ones, had a metal foil cap sealing the neck. The colour of the metal designated the grade of milk.
In the US the equivalent glass milk bottle was heavier and had a wider neck. It was sealed with a cardboard lid, the POG, recreated in the 90's with various designs replacing the brands name of the 40's.
