Fast Clip

Its been another good week for Hot Wheels, as I scored this pair of vintage 1969 Sizzlers - the Ford MkIV and Angeleno.
As is always the case with these battery powered cars, the aged battery leaks and corrodes the contacts. Paint loss and scuffing are a problem, as the cars are all plastic, rather than die cast. However, the green Angeleno only had minor wear, so I was able to clean the motor and get it roadworthy pretty easily. The Ford took a few coats of metallic purple paint and a final layer of varnish. It just needs a couple of replacement decals now.

At retail, a new modern Hot Wheels, but of a slightly different vein. The Corvette clip, is a solid metal car which is used as a key fob, with a small slot at the back. I had found two variations of the Corvette some time sgo.

The latest release for 2025 comes with a Porsche Carrera Clip, a two tone model with a small slot at rear. Its a shame I don’t drive as it would sit well on some car keys!
