Even the knock-off toys are high grade these days! I must admit I was kind of impressed when Bats suddenly stood up and leapt off the building!
Unfortunately I have an uneasy relationship with AI visuals. Apart from the issues of Big Tech stealing everyone's intellectual property, retooling it and selling it back to us, there is a deeper problem for me.
With AI, anything is possible, visually. This has had the unintended consequence of destroying my sense of wonder. As Syndrome in "The Incredibles" said, "When everyone is Super, no one is"
I cannot look at visuals now and enjoy the artistry behind creating that wonderful imagery. In many cases there is no artistry, just data centres guzzling power and water, all so we can watch cats cooking.
I appreciate that AI gives tools to people who do not have the resources to create visuals otherwise, but the wonder of artistic creation was, that it was and always will be hard. To outsource that effort to Tech Bro gatekeepers, enriches them and impoverishes everyone else.
I get it Looey. It feels like a revolution. You sound cross. Not sure what a tech bro gatekeeper but for your average non-pro Joe like me AI, like 3D printing or vanity publishing, is a bit of fun, a new toy but that's all. The really worry for me with AI stuff will be what Mega Corporations, Cartels, Governments and Militias are scheming to do with it and then to all of us all.
