Jayce and the Wheeled Warriors

Jayce and the gang have appeared a couple of times on MC.

With its MOTU looks, oddly it's not a cartoon or toy range I recall but there's some interesting vehicle designs in there.

Is it a show you've come across readers?

  1. I recall getting these toys in while I worked at Target. They looked intriguing but also somewhat cheap to me. They barely sold as there was no real story to grab the kids beyond the Lightning League vs Monster Minds. The drivers were all the same and unnamed. Later in the year the cartoon series hit the television featuring an actual storyline and named drivers but the only thing that tied the series to the toys was the name of the vehicles and alliances. They went on clearance shortly thereafter and we never got more as they were "peg warmers".

A shame as the cartoon was nice.

  2. The series aired on Channel 4 in the UK on Sunday mornings around 1986. I seem to recall the small range of toys appearing in Woolworths at the time but it was very short lived. There were also a small number of the episodes on VHS. There were so many toys based on cartoons during the 80s (or cartoons based on the toys! ) and it never became as popular as Transformers, MASK, Teenage Mutant Ninja (Hero in the UK! ) Turtles, He-Man etc. Personally I preferred Starcom which was just as short lived !

    1. Cheers Yorkie. I may have a VHS tape if it somewhere. Yes, I wonder why the UK dropped the word Ninja?
