A Look of Total Terra

I'm not a Terrahawks fan - I simply didn't see it as I lived abroad at the time - but I appreciate the effort that went into designing the neat fleet.

So distinct are they and so orange, that its easy spotting the Bandai Popy toys from the show when on a car boot stall.

Bingo!

I picked these two up for a pound each. Not complete, they've since made two proper Terrahawks fans happy via eBay!

Are they vehicles and toys you like readers?

  1. I do like them and have them. The series has its faults but I do like the Zeroids!

    1. Alas, Zeroids means only one toy range to me and it's not Terrahawks Kev.

  2. I've got all the large Bandai Terrahawks toys which I've blogged about on here in the past. I don't mind the models, but the series is awful.

    1. I caught Space Precinct when it aired. Enjoyable SF. Hardly ever see the toys at sales.

It's interesting that the Battlehawk has that chunky 70's-80's Japanese styling common in shows like Space Sherrif Gavan, or even the White Base from Mobile Suit Gundam.
However the actual story of it's design is much more interesting, as David Sissons writes...

  5. Ron Cobb is one of the foremost production designers working today. The level of mechanical realism and technical prowess is unparraleled. I loved his Bison concept for the Leviathan ship in Alien and you can see its influence in the Battlehawk. Star Fleet had infinitely better puppetry and storylines than Terrahawks, why it needed talking vampiric teddy bears, drag queen villains, talking dice and footballs and pop idol pilots is beyond me. if you separate the modelwork from the awful scripts and ham fisted puppets, there is plenty to enjoy about the show.
