Rob's Tarheel Nova II Drawing

Woodsy,

I was going through some old papers, and found this odd drawing I made circa 1970.

It shows a side view of my Tarheel Nova II, along with some strange typewritten "specifications" which I do not recall at all!

Anyways, there it is, and it gives you an idea of how obsessed I was with that toy at the time!

  1. Thats a great piece of space ephemera Rob. Around about the same time, I was writing a Space Project book series, filling endless notebooks with a little feltpen sketch and some spurious notes about various spaceships, both toy based and imagined, Only one or two still survive! Bill

    1. This is a piece of ephemera that, until I stumbled upon it, I did not recall at all. I have many (bad) sketches of space art from that era (1969-1970, Space was my thing! SFZ

That is great, and very detailed. Not something I even thought of doing.

  4. I read those specifications now and wonder where in the world did I come up with that stuff? SFZ

    1. I wonder if you had a SWORD annual or a Anderson annual SF? They did similar things, full descriptions of weaponry and the tech of the various craft. If you didn't then you were clearly ahead of the cosmic curve!
