Kevin's Old Ships

I've been settling up another display cabinet and it has given me a chance to get stuff out of the loft that has not been on show for years.

These are two model ships that I built well over 30 years ago. One is the Revell kit of HMS Victory, the other is a wooden kit of a fishing schooner.

Float on,

  2. I agree, gorgeous old ships Kev! They look great! is the ocean a glass table?

  3. Thanks folks. The ocean this time is a plastic sheet designed to simulate water. I couldn't face the cold to use my garden table!

Great looking models. They have survived their years in storage very well. Nice sea effect.

  5. Gorgeous Kev! I had done a couple of model ship w-a-y back in the day but my heart was into airplanes back then so the ships got sunk!

  7. The penultimate shot really reminds me of my late Mum's fave TV show, The Onedin Line, Kev! Remember that one?

  8. I do, it was like The Brothers but a century earlier and with sailing ships instead of articulated lorries!

    1. Ha ha! The Brothers, that does ring a bell Kev! There were lots of shows like these that my parents watched which I was too young to see or be interested in, like Man at the Top, The Baron, Man Alive and the Lotus Eaters. Remember them?
