I'm enjoying rewatching the original Star Trek on Legend TV (has there ever been a time when it wasn't being reshown?!) and was reminded of my previous posts on the Dinky USS Enterprise and the Dinky Klingon Cruiser.
Here's the links to those previous posts:

And here's a few photo reminders
Great photos of toys that are perhaps not so great but do have a charm. The original Enterprise is still my favourite spaceship (a tough admission for a Blake's 7 fan!)
ReplyDeleteThanks Kev. Yes, the Enterprise design is a certainly unique and instantly recognisable.
DeleteLike you I love the original Enterprise, I confess, I'm also fond of the Refit version, too. You'll no doubt be aware Corgi toys have recently released a die cast version of the Refit to compliment their original Enterprise model.
I didn't know about the refit. I just looked it up, it looks very nice. I would hate to have to paint a model of it!
DeleteYep, superb shots Scoop. Fab backgrounds. I'm half way through a modern ST flick, Into Darkness. One of the characters is Admiral Pike. Wasn't that the name of the TOS pilot Captain?
ReplyDeleteCheers Woodsy.
DeleteStar Trek: Into Darkness is a pretty good movie although Benedict Cumberbatch as Khan is a bit of a stretch for me. Chris Pine, Zachary Quinto and especially, Karl Urban are perfect casting in my opinion.
Christopher Pike was indeed the original name for the Enterprise' captain. The streaming channel, Paramount + features the earlier adventures of Pike, Number One and Spock in the 2022 series, Star Trek: Strange New Worlds.
Incredible toys and beautiful photos. Truly a nostalgia trip! I tried watching the original series again recently, and was surprised at how primitive it seems now. Which I like! Back in the day, it seemed "cutting edge." Still, I'll take the original series any day over the new incarnations! SFZ
