MAJOR MATT MASON TV AD 1969

Those were the days! Did you have a Major Matt Christmas readers back in the late Sixties?

  1. Yep.
    '68 or '69, I think.
A fantastic range of 'space age' childhood delight.

  2. I had some. Figureswise I had 2 or 3 Major Matt Masons, a Sgt Storm, a Doug Davis, and a Callisto. I had wanted a Captain Lazer and Jeff Long to round out my figures but never could find them.
Gearwise, I had a jet pack, 2 space sleds, a rocket launch pak set, a space crawler, a space shelter pak, supernaut power limbs pak, and numerous red lunar tracs.
Fun note: as pieces got given away or tossed due to wire breakage, I hung on to Callisto's backpack and mounted sensor gun. Later on I found out that I could put the red rocket from the rocket pak into the cradle of the backpack and created my own solar powered spaceship with a carrier attachment.
Alas what was left when we moved to Houston in 77 went in a garage sale and left my life except for some random bits I decided my Micronauts needed.

    1. A great story that Lance. I wonder if it's still out there, your MMM concoction? Where did you reside before moving to Houston in 77?

  3. I never liked Matt's flat top hairstyle, so I had Sgt Storm and Doug Davis. In the 90s in Penrith Australia, I found a loose Jeff Long in excellent condition, so now I'm a happy Space Camper!
